Karin Hilbers participates with the drypoint graphic Veien/Der Weg fragen 2018 (50x70cm) at Østlandsutstillingen 2019 (VI).
How did you find out that you wanted to become an artist?
Only during the holidays I have had time enough to do larger drawings and printings. So one day I decided to continue my studies of Art which I had not finished many years ago. Where do you get your inspiration for your work from today? I get Inspiration from my environment and from the news in television and newspapers. The artistic treatment of problems is for me a way to get things straight.
Have you participated at Østlandsutstillingen before?
No, it is the first time.
Please tell us litt about your art piece at the exhibition.
The drypoint shows the challenge how to find a new way to solve a problem and how to proceed. Should I prepare myself quietly sitting in a beach chair, collecting data and reading information before getting started or take off immediately? Should I take a gently rising path with many winding roads or rather choose a more steep path that even may be more dangerous?
Whats your next big artistic project?
In the beginning of 2020 I will have a retrospektive exhibition of my life`s work.
How do you think that the cooperation between Norway and Schleswig-Holstein should develop in the future?
I hope it will continue and be funded for a long time. It would be nice, to have a symposium , where norwegian and german artists could work together for two or three weeks.
