Application Guidelines 2025
Information
Østlandsutstillingen is a group exhibition based on free submission. You can apply with all types of expressions within visual art. Østlandsutstillingen 2025 is advertised without a defined theme.
Østlandsutstillingen 2025 will tour to the following exhibition locations:
08.03 – 27.04 Nitja Center for Contemporary Art
16.08 – 21.09 Oplandia senter for samtidskunst and Galleri Fjordheim
The Jury will evaluate applications based on the documentation submitted digitally.
The Jury’s decision will be sent by email in week 3. Selected works must be delivered during weeks 8 and 9. The date for submission will be communicated to participating artists.

Application Guidelines 2025
By applying, you accept Østlandsutstillingen's terms and conditions:
- The applicant has a connection connected to Eastern Norway. “Connection” means that you meet one of the following criteria:
- born and raised in Eastern Norway, or
- studying in Eastern Norway, or
- a resident of Eastern Norway, or
- a member of a district organization in Eastern Norway.
- The applicant accepts that all selected works will be exhibited in at least one of the two display locations.
- The applicant is responsible for having cleared all rights for the use of images, film, music, sound, and photography before applying.
- The applicant must fill in the application form and photographic material in accordance with the application guidelines.
- Selected works cannot be removed from the exhibition before the end of the exhibition tour.
- Selected works that exist in multiple editions cannot be displayed simultaneously in the region.
- Selected works cannot have been shown at the exhibition venues before.
- Selected works cannot be older than from 2022.
- Selected works must be delivered to Østlandsutstillingen ready for installation at the agreed time.
- Participating artists will be paid an exhibition fee. The fee shall cover expenses for the realization of the work as presented to the jury. If there are several artists behind the work, the fee will be shared among the artists. Hired assistance or performers for implementation (e.g., installation and performance) and screening rights (e.g., music) must be covered by the sum of the exhibition fee.
- Artists should have an organization number; in the absence of an organization number, accounting expenses will be deducted from the fee.
- Submitted image material will be used in Østlandsutstillingen’s catalog and promotion of the exhibition without the artist or photographer being further informed or remunerated.
Application guidance
Rules for Submitting Application Materials
- Each applicant can apply with up to three works.
- Artist groups can apply through a representative.
- Applications submitted by email will not be accepted.
- Applications cannot be specified for one of the viewing locations. However, if you apply with a site-specific work, you may apply to only one display location.
- Include a short project description with a maximum of 750 characters per work.
- Submit sketch material for site-specific works and performances.
Specification of Image Material
- File format: jpg/jpeg
- Size: Max 2 MB per image file (72 dpi)
- Naming convention for image files: “Title_productionyear_originalsize.jpg.” Detail images should be labeled as: “Title_detalj.jpg.”
- If the file name contains special characters such as æ, ø, å, /, “, ‘, and #, the image will not go through.
- Please do not include your name on the image attachment. The application process is anonymous.
- Two-dimensional works should be documented with one image per work.
- Three-dimensional works and series should be documented with one image of the entire work and up to three detailed images.
- Audiovisual works should be documented with one still image labeled: “stillimage_title production year.jpg.” Submit links and passwords to YouTube and Vimeo, ensuring that your name is removed from the introduction and scrolling text. The application process is anonymous.
- For site-specific works and performances: Submit a thorough project description and sketch material.
