"Jeg er en Maxer" is an installation featuring drawings about a fictitious Pepsi Maxer, Kari Max and is based on research into Norway's current Pepsi Max craze. Currently, Norwegians consume 9% of the world's Pepsi Max and many are addicted despite warnings about the drink's sugar replacement, Aspartame. I compare Pepsi Max consumption with Norway's plans to capture and store carbon by pumping massive amounts of fizzy, liquidised C02 beneath rocks in the North Sea. This will enable Norway to reach the goals of the Paris Agreement without greatly altering consumerist habits and fossil fuel use. However, the long term effects of carbon capture and storage are very uncertain- just like drinking too much Pepsi Max!

"Jeg er rik i selvtillit" will be a performance by Kirsty Kross as Kari Max in which Kari dressed as a cowgirl (with a much better outfit than the previous performance at Tenthaus) will perform a series of songs showing off her extreme talent and Maxer confidence about her obsession with Pepsi Max and the crisis in her marriage to Ulf Anders. The performance will culminate in a site specific Pepsi Max stunt that may also involve members of the audience and address the attention economy embodied in social media as well as the representation of middle aged women in the media. It's possible for the performance to also happen alongside the installation "Jeg er en Maxer" or the performance could also create temporary site specific installation.

Jentefest will be a durational performance in the public space in which 2-3 performers including Kari Max will sit at at a table and drink Pepsi Max. They will have a little party that also is loud and draws attention to passersby. The public will also be welcome to come sip Pepsi Max at the Jentefest. Occasionally Pepsi Max explosions will come from underneath the table bursting through the blue, ocean tablecloth. The jentefest will ignore this and continue their party. The performance could go for two hours, but could also be longer or shorter in length depending on discussions with the organisers of Østlandsutstillingen. This performance could take place for example in the outdoor atrium at Kunstbanken.
